Album cover description

We have searched high and low to be able to offer you album cover selections that meet our stringent quality standards and provide for stylish color selections. The album cover is an 11" X 14" or 10" X 10" (depending on which album selection you choose to go with) post-bound cover with a front cover photo window that accommodates a photo of your choice. Covers are made especially for Pixtorie and begin with a base of high-density cover board that resists warping. The cover is wrapped in a high-quality book cloth that has a linen feel. The inside of the cover is lined with black paper book lining. These materials are archival quality, to ensure the preservation of the photos inside your Pixtorie album. The color offerings have been carefully selected to emanate richness and will complement any home décor.

Signing up

There is no sign-up fee to use Pixtorie's scrapbook website. Surf through the Pixtorie layouts, make an on-line custom album and share your on-line version with friends and family-all for free! The only time you will be charged is when you order an authentic Pixtorie scrapbook produced with care by the Pixtorie team from your on-line creation.

Variations in product

Because every Pixtorie album is custom and handmade with the utmost care, there may be very slight variations in the version you create and view on the website and the product you receive. For example, if a certain layout uses a floral patterned paper, the location of the cut will vary from layout to layout and may slightly affect the look of the overall pattern. We are confident in saying that this does not compromise the product in any way, but rather adds to the charm and individuality of each scrapbook.

Handling and care of your Pixtorie album

While each Pixtorie album is created with high-quality materials to aid in the longevity of the album, Pixtorie strongly recommends that care be taken when handling and storing to help in the life of the album. We recommend that you store your album in a dry place where it will not be exposed to extreme temperatures. Also, when handling the album, we recommend you have clean, dry hands and handle each page with care.

Pixtorie allocates 50MG of space for each Pixtorie account. You can use all 50 MG for free-so take advantage!

Create an account

Signing up for a free Pixtorie account is a snap! Here's how:

• Get started on your scrapbook right away. Click on any of the "Create a Scrapbook" or "Start your scrapbook now" links and you will be taken directly into the "Create A Scrapbook" tool. Start building away. When you get to the point where you want to upload photos, the web tool will take you to the login screen.
• From the Pixtorie Homepage, click on "My Account." You will be taken to the login screen.
• From the Scrapbook builder tool, Click on "My Account." You will be taken to the login screen.

If you are a first-time user, there will be a "sign up now" link on the login screen that will allow you to sign up for an account.

"My Account" Features

The Pixtorie website is packed full of fun features. One of those features is a Pixtorie account dedicated to you, your photos and the personal scrapbooks that you create via the Pixtorie "Create A Scrapbook" tool. Features of "My Account" include:

Order history

• Displays past orders. If you want to re-order a previously ordered scrapbook, all you have to do is click on your past order number and you are on your way!

My Scrapbooks

• Neatly displays all of your in-progress and completed scrapbooks by the scrapbook name that you assign to each scrapbook.
• Allows you to view, edit and copy and share your scrapbooks in a matter of seconds!

My Photos

• Displays all personal photos that you have uploaded to your Pixtorie account.
• Allows you to organize and name photos by "Photo Groups." Use "Photo Groups" to easily locate specific photos each time you return.
• Easily edit, copy or delete photos!

Disk space

• Displays total space you are using vs. total space allotted to your personal Pixtorie account.

Edit account info

• Make ordering a snap! Easily edit your ship-to, bill-to and email addresses. This information will "auto-populate" in the order form every time you place an order.

Change password

• Tired of your old password? Easily change your password via the My Accounts tools by clicking on the "Change Password" button.

Photos

Pixtorie's print technology

At Pixtorie, your photos are very important to us. We have partnered with a professional Kodak photo lab to ensure delivery of the best possible photo quality in your album. A professional photo lab is not what you see when you walk into your local drugstore or large chain retailer; it's what wedding photographers, sports photographers, school album photographers, designers and other experts use.

Your photos will be developed by the professional lab on a Kodak RP30 machine using archival quality Kodak Portra Endura paper. Additionally, each photo is individually optimized for color by a professional developer to ensure the best possible color contrast. We have adopted this photo printing process so that we can deliver the best possible product to you!

Image resolution defined

Resolution is generally defined as the product of two numbers (e.g., 640 x 480), which indicates the number of pixels displayed horizontally multiplied by the number of pixels displayed vertically.

A pixel is an abbreviation for "picture element." Pixels can be thought of as tiny dots of color, arranged in rows and columns, which together produce an image. The higher the number of dots (pixels) in an image, the greater the image detail, which ultimately results in a higher quality print.

Usually, you can control the resolution of your digital images by setting your digital camera to take high resolution photos. Most digital cameras allow users to select from a choice of image resolutions and give the option to utilize JPEG compression. Pixtorie recommends that you use the highest resolution setting that your digital camera allows if you plan to make prints. As for JPEG compression, the compression levels are usually listed as Normal or Basic, Fine, and Superfine and sometimes High Quality. If the camera has 2+ Megapixels, Pixtorie recommends either the Fine or Superfine setting. As a side note: Using the Fine setting will reduce the file size but will also reduce image quality. If the digital camera has less than 2 Megapixels, Pixtorie recommends the setting with the least amount of compression (Superfine). The specifics of setting the digital camera resolution and JPEG compression level can be found in the user manual for your digital camera.

Resolution recommendations and requirements

With the above in mind, Pixtorie recommends you submit high-resolution images so that you will get best possible print quality. Additionally, Pixtorie strongly recommends that you submit the original image taken from your camera. The Pixtorie website currently has resolution restrictions built into the web application, which will prevent you from uploading an image if the resolution is too low. This feature is to ensure that you will not be disappointed with the quality of your prints in your album. Pixtorie's minimum resolution requirement is 930 x 620.

• Go to the gift certificate area by clicking here or follow the various links to the gift certificate area that are scattered across the website.
• Fill out the form supplying your name, the recipient's name, the amount of the gift certificate, the recipients shipping address and your credit card Information.
• Click submit and your credit card information will be securely processed and debited the amount of the gift certificate that you specified plus shipping and handling fees.
• The Pixtorie gift certificate you ordered will be promptly packaged and placed in the mail for shipment to your desired destination.

Redeem Gift Certificate

Did you receive a Pixtorie Gift Certificate? Lucky you!! Someone must really like you! Here's how to redeem your Gift Certificate for your very own unique and custom-crafted scrapbook:

Redeem your Gift Certificate in any of the following ways:

• Order a scrapbook that you have already created
• Order a scrapbook that was made online by a friend and forwarded to you
• Create a new scrapbook from scratch and then use your gift certificate to order it .
• Each Pixtorie Gift Certificate has a unique code printed in the "Coupon Code" area on the gift certificate.
• During the checkout process, there is an area in the checkout form for "Coupon Code". Type in the code that appears on your gift certificate in this "Coupon Code" area.
• Once this code is entered and the rest of the order form is completed, click the "Process Payment" button. This action takes you to a new screen, which will provide an order summary.
• The order summary shows the total cost of the album minus the amount of the gift certificate. If there is a balance that needs to be paid, this balance will be displayed and additional payment information will need to be entered at this time.
• After payment information is entered, or if no additional payment information is needed, all the gift certificate holder will need to do is click the "Process Payment" button and their order will be submitted to the Pixtorie team!
